Sanctuary Bay in Grand Bahama was born out of a desire to foster meaningful connections between humans and dolphins in a natural, respectful way. Unlike traditional marine parks, the dolphins live in ocean enclosures that mirror their natural habitat, allowing them to retain their natural instincts, like echolocation and hunting. 01 SIGNATURE WHISTLES
Each Bottlenose Dolphin has a unique whistle that acts like a "name." They use these signature whistles to identify themselves and communicate with other dolphins.
02 ECHOLOCATION SUPERPOWERS
They "see" with sound! Using echolocation, dolphins emit sound waves that bounce off objects and return, allowing them to map their surroundings in detail, even in murky or dark waters.
A Bottlenose Dolphin can jump up to a height of 6 meters (20 feet) in the air!
